I’m Brad Mason

I specialize in helping parents and their children find answers that work. I get to the point quickly and help parents teach children how to recognize and manage their emotional responses. It is with pride and joy that I see parents getting their children to do what they say more often and enjoy being together as they “Get on the Plus Side” of their child’s behavior.

I also specialize in social and coping skills groups for children with Asperger Syndrome, ADHD, High Functioning Autism, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional-Defiant Disorder, and other types of difficulty with self-regulation and social thinking. I teach cognitive flexibility, appropriate emotional expression and management, and positive parenting that nurtures both heart and soul and feels GOOD! And it WORKS!

I learned long ago that conventional wisdom about what to do when kids have behavior problems was simply wrong. I have been able to help parents find answers that work. What do I do that is different?

Teach thinking skills
Perspective taking
Social Skills groups
Break the pattern of negative evaluation
Graduated, truthful systems of reward
Make the good times bigger and longer

It’s all about you

Much of what I do, the strategies employed, your rate of progess, the style I use as your therapist, is largely dependent on you. I do not use “one-size-fits-all” templates for individualized treatment. Everybody is unique, so every therapeutic session should be unique and tailored to you, your preferences, your unique situation and profile of strengths, weaknesses, values, and beliefs. So it is difficult to say, “I use this program for” … ADHD, etc. Because I know that through your one-of-a-kind therapeutic relationship with me, we set you own goals, your individual course, the way each person gets results and what results they want to see is created specifically for you.
